HOW TO CHOOSE AN IMAGE CONSULTANT

When you are considering hiring an image consultant, here are some questions you might want to consider before you book that appointment?

1) Have they had any formal image consulting training?
- What school or training program did they attend, and when? If they don't have formal training, how are they then qualified to be an image consultant? Image consulting is a systematic process. How did they develop their processes and tools?

2) How long have they been in business?
- How long have they been an image consultant? Some image consultants will say they have been in the fashion or retail industry, but how long have they actually been getting paid to work as an image consultant with clients?

3) What type of clients have they worked with?
- Is this consultant someone who has worked with others like yourself?
- How many clients have they worked in the past year?

4) Are they a member of AICI (Association of Image Consultants International)?
- This will indicate how serious they are about their business. Some consultants do not choose to take exams and obtain certification with AICI. This does not mean they are not good consultants. Often times, these consultants have chosen not to certify because of the financial commitment it takes to maintain that level of membership.

4) Have you checked out their website?
- Do they have a professional presence?
- Are their services well described or rather ambiguous?
